A little history about KLS

Hello, I'm Miss Gray.

I qualified as a primary teacher with a Masters in Primary Teaching in 2009 from Melbourne University. This led me to starting my teaching journey in Melbourne Australia, where I spent 6 years as a classroom teacher. I returned to Glasgow Scotland in 2016 and since then I have done a variety of classroom teaching and learning support. During this time, I also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Structured Teaching Intervention for Dyslexia and Literacy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Dyslexia and Literacy with Dyslexia Action, a course accredited by London Middlesex University. I am registered with the General Teaching Council (GTCS), hold an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) and a professional membership with the British Dyslexia Association (AMBADA).

Whilst completing the PGC on Dyslexia and Literacy I looked to gain some experience in specialist teaching and worked for a year in the Dyslexia Action Learning Centre in Glasgow. 1 in 10 people experience dyslexia, some studies say as many as 1 in 5. I decided to create Key Learning Solutions to not only support the children who have missed out on so much of their education due to the pandemic, but also to support and raise awareness of the learning difficulty dyslexia. With the elevation of educational discussions recently, it would be wonderful if some of the information learnt was on how to spot dyslexic traits, strategies to support dyslexic learners, as well as identifying and nourishing dyslexic strengths.

It would also be advantageous if we could dispel some of the misconceptions surrounding the learning difficulty. The reason I am so passionate about assisting dyslexic learners is because in my experience these are the people who find it hardest to instil in themselves a love of learning due to the learning challenges they experience. It is this attitude that is at the core of my approach to teaching. Whether you suspect your child has dyslexia or not, I hope to welcome you to KLS and help your child’s learning in any way I can.

Best Wishes,

Susannah Gray

Dyslexia Diagnostic Assessments

We offer diagnostic assessments that provide a detailed insight into the child’s learning profile as well as recommendations for the child’s learning at home and school. The process begins with a questionnaire to assist in identifying the best assessment tools to use to assess the child in question. Assessments usually takes up to 2 hours with mini breaks in-between subtests. Any questions can be discussed as the initial consultation

Tuition Services

KLS offers a one to one tuition service. We assess any new children at the beginning to identify strengths and weakness and work together to build confidence and support areas of need.
